Republicans accused Obama of being a socialist because of his support for a more progressive income tax. Warren Buffet, a very large capitalist has protested how few taxes the rich pay. Republicans have distorted the image of Socialism. Obama's has little in common with the old Socialist leaders Eugene Debs or Norman Thomas.
